The Resilience of Sisyphos wird 2025 im Rahmen der MusikTheaterTage Wien aufgeführt. Das immersive, interaktive Musiktheater verbindet die Kompositionen von fünf jungen Komponist*innen mit performativen Elementen des Escape-Room-Formats.
Das Publikum reist ins Jahr 2175 und begegnet der Future Society for Previous Issues. Auf der Forschungsstation Sisyphos durchläuft es in Kleingruppen fünf Simulationsräume, die auf humorvolle, ernste, spielerische oder satirische Weise zentrale Fragen unserer Gegenwart verhandeln: gesellschaftliche Solidarität, Klimakrise, Kapitalismuskritik und die Suche nach Handlungsfähigkeit.
The Resilience of Sisyphos spricht eine Einladung zu anti-apokalyptischen Zukunftsfantasien aus. Entwickelt vom Kollektiv MuPATh gemeinsam mit Wiener Aktivist_innen, erkundete das Format Wege aus der kollektiven Ohnmacht. Wie gehen wir mit den Auswirkungen der Klimakatastrophe um? Wie schaffen wir Solidarität für alle?
 
Einflüsse aus Aktivismus und Kunst: Der Entwicklungsprozess zu The Resilience of Sisyphos begann mit der Auseinandersetzung mit der Arbeit verschiedener Aktivist:innen und Initiativen, mit denen das Team im Austausch steht: Alexander Behr, Politikwissenschaftler und Aktivist, das Civil Action Network für eine resiliente und aktive Zivilgesellschaft, Architects for Future mit dem Fokus auf eine sozial gerechte Bauwende sowie das Performancekollektiv Planetenparty Prinzip, das sich theatral mit gesellschaftlichen Prozessen beschäftigt.

The Resilience of Sisyphos premieres in 2025 as part of the MusikTheaterTage Wien. This immersive, interactive music-theatre project combines the compositions of five young composers with performative elements inspired by escape rooms.
The audience travels to the year 2175 and encounters the Future Society for Previous Issues. On the research station Sisyphos, small groups navigate five simulation rooms that explore key questions of our present through humorous, serious, playful, or satirical approaches: social solidarity, the climate crisis, critiques of capitalism, and the pursuit of collective agency.The Resilience of Sisyphos extends an invitation to anti-apocalyptic visions of the future. Developed by the collective MuPATh in collaboration with Vienna-based activists, the project explores ways to overcome collective powerlessness: How do we respond to the impacts of climate change? How do we create solidarity for all?
 
Influences from Activism and Art: 
The development of The Resilience of Sisyphos begins with engagement with the work of various activists and initiatives with whom the team exchanges ideas: Alexander Behr, political scientist and activist; the Civil Action Network, promoting a resilient and active civil society; Architects for Future, focusing on socially just urban transformation; and the performance collective Planetenparty Prinzip, which theatrically investigates social processes.
